Galapagos – Isabella
Galapagos – Santa Cruz (Scuba Diving with Sharks!)
Before any pictures, here are a bunch of short video clips of our four dives you should watch (two dives at Gordon Rock and two dives at Seymour). We saw hammer head sharks, Galapagos sharks, white tip sharks, eagle rays, manta rays, sting rays, gigantic sea turtles, sea lions, large school of barracuda, star fish, and much more!
Galapagos -San Cristobol
We arrived in San Cristobol on Valentine’a Day 2014! San Cristobol is the closest island to the mainland. It has sea lions lined up along the shores. Large marine iguanas can also be found along the beaches. We had an amazing time snorkeling at Kicker Rock (Leon Dormido). We swam with hammerhead sharks, black tip sharks, Galapagos sharks, sea turtles, manta rays and eagle rays! We also hiked around the island and saw giant land turtles which are endemic to the islands.
Baños – Week 4 (Quilotoa Loop)
Our last week in Baños we spent building a Cornhole set for the children (and volunteers ;)) of La Bib! Dave cut and pieced together the parts for the boxes and the children helped decorate them. Christina taught the children how to back stitch the bags and fill them with beans. The children had a blast playing bags!
We also went on one last excursion… The Quilotoa Loop. We hiked through the Andes visiting small indigenous villages along the way. The views were spectacular!
