Mondo Taitu Hostel

We spent 10 days/9 nights in Bocas del Toro and visited many beaches, dive sites, and local restaurants. Our residence for this the was the Mondo Taitu Hostel.

We were glad we chose Mondo as or hostel because we met great friends and enjoyed theme parties at their bar!

One group of friends were the “Canadians” (left to right from top: Christina (duh), Becca, Maia, Britt, and Elyse). They are some of the best and funniest humans ever!

Christina and Becca decided to do hand stands, which led to Dave having to give Christina shoulder massages 🙂

Our Favorite Local Restaurant

When we first got to Bocas we saw this restaurant called Golden Grill and it quickly became our favorite. Mostly because the internet worked really well (in comparison to our hostel). It is also where we had Thanksgiving dinner (pepperoni pizza and empanadas).

Bluff Beach on Isla Colon

Bluff Beach is located about 7.5 km north of where we are staying in Bocas Town. It is a local hotspot for surfers because of the bigger waves. The day I went it was a fairly calm day, but wanted still reached about 3 meters. Here are pics of the bike ride up, the waves at the beach, and even a short video.

Red Frog Beach

Red Frog Beach got its name because of these little guys:

This boy came up to us as we were leaving the beach on the island of Bastimentos.
